I know I said I would not brew a kit beer in 2012, but I am not yet ready. I have John Palmer’s “How to Brew, Everything you need to know to brew beer right the first time” and whilst I think it is a good book, the guy clearly cannot not remembered how it was to be a beginner and this book is not written for them. I am sure it is good once I start, but having to read 80 pages before your first brew?
Can’t have the fermenter empty for too long, so I thought I would try the Gold kits because they have two cans of hopped extract and I do like porters… so why not.
Tasting Notes
Wow, this is definitely my best brew to date! The smell, the malt, and it is my first brew that did not have any yeasty “home brew” flavour. A great reminder that IPAs are not the only style worth drinking!
